Mary is the CEO and director of Back in Motion Physical Therapy, PLC. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in education and minor in athletic training and cardiovascular health from Northeastern University in Boston, MA.
Lynn Josephs, PT, MSPT
Lynn specializes in Fascial Counterstrain (FCS) to treat patients of all ages. She trains rigorously with the Jones Institute Counterstrain and the Counterstrain Academy for mastery level instruction to bring this gentle but incredibly powerful passive manual technique to Physical Therapy Your Way.
Dale DePue, PT, DPT, CSCS
She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Boston University, Master's in Business Administration in Health Care Management from the University of Phoenix and Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Arcadia University.

Patricia Mitchell, LPTA, CLT
Patty has been practicing PT for 30 years and is passionate about helping breast cancer patients and survivors. She is a Certified Lymphedema Therapist (CLT), completing the 135 hour program at The Academy of Lymphatic Studies.
Anne Marie Simko, MSPT
Ann Marie Simko graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Russell Sage College in Troy, NY in 1987. She began her career at Albany Medical Center working in the ICU and rehab unit with spinal cord injuries, amputees, and burn patients, before moving to Virginia in 1988.
Aileen Andolino, PT, MSPT, ATC, ART
Aileen is an avid student of Classical and Power Pilates and is a Level I Kettlebell Instructor. She utilizes Kettlebells in her own strength training program.
Jamie Drake, PT, DPT
Jamie Drake is from Fairfax Station, Virginia. She grew up playing competitive soccer and enjoyed running on the track and cross country teams.
Marinel Jacobs, PT, DPT, COMT
Marinel is a native of Cape Town, South Africa and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiotherapy Cum Laude from the University of Stellenbosch in South Africa. She later obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia.
Kim Guinee, PT, DPT
Kim graduated from the University of Miami Physical Therapy program in 1989 with a Master’s of Science. Kim began working at Back in Motion in March 2014. Prior to joining us she worked in a variety of settings including outpatient orthopedics, nursing homes, and home health care. She has a wide array of experience in the afflictions facing our aging population.
Katy Lyon, PT, DPT
Katy earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Marymount University and has her Bachelors degrees in Biology and Painting: Studio Art, while minoring in Athletic Training. She has studied and practiced in Orthopedic Sports medicine, Inpatient Neuro-Rehabilitation, and Pediatric facilities. She has had the immense privilege of spending time in Sierra Leone practicing with an incredible therapy group called Enable the Children under World Hope International.
Brauna Carl PT, DPT
Brauna believes that movement is medicine! She became a physical therapist to help others find the individualized movement prescription to optimally nourish body, mind, and spirit.

Lisa has been with Back in Motion Physical Therapy since October 2018. She graduated from Ursinus College with her Bachelor of Science degree and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Temple University.
Lesley Spalding, a native of Northern Virginia, joined the Back in Motion team in January 2007. Lesley’s experience in the fitness industry spans over 20 years and holds many certifications that include AFAA, Yogafit, and Stott Pilates Instructor Trainer.
Melinda Ferrell, PT
Melinda graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor's degree in Science/ Physical Therapy in 1979. She has since worked in a variety of settings including several hospitals (inpatient total joints/orthopedics, neurological disorders such as MS and strokes, and amputees), skilled nursing homes, and private practice PT.

Erica Palmer, originally from New Orleans, earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia and her Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Physiology from Temple University in Philadelphia.
Julie Huelsman, PT, DPT
Julie Huelsman earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2005 from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Since then she has worked with a diverse group of patients in Seattle, Manhattan, Boston, and now Alexandria.

Julia McPeak graduated from George Washington University with her doctorate in physical therapy in 2012.
Twila Ruefer, PT, DPT
Twila earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from San Diego State University. Twila sees her role as a physical therapist as an opportunity to serve others by making a positive difference in their lives and empowering them through care and education to aid in their recovery and overall health and wellness.
Melinda Avery, PT, DPT
Melinda graduated with a Bachelors of Arts degree in French from Wake Forest University (WFU) with a minor in Psychology with a focus in pre-med courses. In college, Melinda enjoyed rowing with WFU, as well as being a member of an a cappella singing group. After college, she decided to pursue her life-long passion of baking and attended culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu to become a pastry chef. Melinda worked in San Francisco for 6 years where she enjoyed a variety of pastry and food related jobs as a pastry chef and chef instructor teaching others the joy of baking.

Back in Motion PT no longer offers treatment for Pelvic floor disorders. However, our sister company, Physical Therapy Your Way and Advanced Specialty Care PLLC offers treatments for all of these services. Physical Therapy Your Way performs internal pelvic floor evaluation and treatments for bowel, bladder and sexual dysfunction.

Back in Motion PT does however continue to treat women of all ages including prenatal and post-partum women suffering from pelvic girdle pain, upper and low back pain, sacro-iliac dysfunction and pubic symphysis separation, osteoporosis, lymphedema, carpal tunnel syndrome and more. Back in Motion PT offers more traditional spine and pelvic girdle treatments which can be treated externally.
