Stay active and healthy and have fun while improving your strength, flexibility and balance with a certified fitness professional. This is a great class for those transitioning from PT to fitness.


Pilates
What is Pilates?
Joseph Pilates developed his exercise system in the 1920s as a means to achieving optimal health – a sound body and mind. A Pilates workout will increase strength, flexibility, and energy levels. It offers a way to lengthen, realign and redefine the body while improving posture, balance, and coordination, easing chronic pain, and focusing the mind. Pilates workouts can be performed using specially designed equipment and/or simply mats.
Pilates at Back in Motion
Our private and semi-private training combines both mat and apparatus work in each session. We also offer small group mat classes. Class sizes are kept intentionally small so all may receive individual instruction for maximum results and safety. Adults of all ages and fitness levels can learn and benefit from Pilates.
Yoga
Hatha yoga focuses on asanas or poses. A person who practices yoga goes through a series of specific poses while controlling his or her breathing and incorporates meditation and relaxation. Yoga has a multitude of benefits, including improving flexibility, strength, balance, stamina and mental clarity while reducing anxiety and stress. Yoga is about creating balance in the body through developing strength, flexibility, and mind-body connection.
