Matthew Gallegos, PT, DPT, ATC

Matt earned his doctorate from the University of Mary (Bismarck, ND) Physical Therapy program in 2020, after becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) and credentialing as a LSVT BIG provider for individuals with Parkinson’s disease. He began working at Back In Motion in September 2020 and along with Hawaiian shirt Fridays, has brought a plethora of research based knowledge and creative treatment approaches. In addition to his experience working with collegiate athletes, he has PT clinical experience in neurologic, geriatric, pain neuroscience education, as well as orthopedic and post-operative settings.

Matt has a professional interest in living out a life of continuing education, constantly seeking the newest research-based therapeutic guidelines, and plans to get involved with the APTA (American Physical Therapy Association) where he can further advocate for the greater well-being of his patients as well as the physical therapy profession as a whole. He enjoys working with both the athletic population and those who may feel furthest from “athletic” but desire to regain their functional independence and rid themselves of pain.

In his spare time, in addition to his COVID basement workouts, this country boy at heart enjoys boxing, fishing, hiking, and exploring the grander DC area for all its seasonal beauty.
