What is Pilates?

Joseph Pilates developed his exercise system in the 1920s as a means to achieve optimal health through a sound body and mind. A Pilates workout aims to increase strength, flexibility, and energy levels by lengthening and realigning the body. Benefits include improved posture, balance, and coordination, diminished chronic pain, and a focused mind. Pilates workouts can be performed using special equipment and/or simple mats.

Pilates at Back in Motion

We offer small group mat classes. Class sizes are kept intentionally small to provide individual instruction for maximum results and safety. Adults of all ages and fitness levels can learn and benefit from Pilates.
