Madison Pessel

Madison Pessel, a native of Northern Virginia, earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in physical therapy from James Madison University. She obtained a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from New York University. Before joining Back in Motion, Madison served as a Physical Therapist at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital. During her tenure, she made significant contributions in both the Post-Operative Care and Pediatric departments.

Notably, Madison assisted in starting initiatives in pediatric physical therapy, including the establishment of a pediatric pelvic floor rehabilitation program. Her expertise in pediatrics extends to the effective treatment of diverse conditions such as neurological disorders, congenital disabilities, and musculoskeletal injuries. Using evidence based practice with play, her clients have significant enhancements in mobility, particularly in pediatric cases including cerebral palsy, toe walking, developmental delay, autism, and torticollis. With experience in Acute Care and Orthopedic Post-Operative Care, Madison implements evidence-based protocols tailored to promote individualized care plans that cater to the unique needs of each patient.

She believes in a holistic approach, combining physical therapy with lifestyle recommendations to promote overall well-being. Madison is a certified strength and conditioning specialist, further enriching her proficiency in the field and understanding of return to fitness and recreational activities. Madison's commitment to advocating for physical well-being is evident in her personal life as well. She believes in practicing what she preaches, maintaining an active lifestyle that includes enjoying outdoor activities like snowboarding, wake-surfing, and taking her morning walks with her dog, Ollie.
