At Back in Motion our highly skilled and experienced therapists provide innovative physical therapy treatments utilizing an array of manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular reeducation, therapeutic exercise and specific functional activities to treat the following conditions:

Orthopedic / Sports Medicine

Physical therapy is provided for a wide range of orthopedic and sports related injuries. Conditions such as tendonitis, bursitis, joint sprains, muscle strains, neck and back pain are commonly treated. Post surgical rehabilitation following joint replacements, tendon and ligament repairs, and following spine surgery are frequently seen. We provide rehabilitation for patients of all ages with both new and chronic conditions. Our therapists regularly attend continuing education seminars to further develop their clinical expertise to provide you with the latest and most effective treatment techniques available for your orthopedic condition. Our therapists employ a variety of manual therapy techniques as well an innovative therapeutic exercise, taping and specific functional activities.

Women’s health

This area includes therapeutic procedures to help women suffering from back and pelvic pain during pregnancy and through the post partum period. Other areas include treatment for the involuntary leakage of urine, pelvic pain, pain with intercourse and frequent urination.

Pediatrics

Back in Motion Physical Therapy’s Pediatric program provides services for children of all ages from birth through their teen age years. Rehabilitation is provided for children with orthopedic and neurological conditions. We provide a kid friendly therapeutic environment to help each child meet and exceed their goals.

Athletic performance

At Back in Motion Physical Therapy we are here to help you maximize your athletic performance. We provide musculoskeletal assessments to determine if you have any deficiencies in: muscular strength and endurance, trunk control, muscular balance, joint mechanical alignment and mobility, static and dynamic balance, cardiovascular endurance and speed. We utilize Gray Cooke PT’s Functional Movement Screen to determine your present risk for noncontact injuries. The NFL utilizes this screen during the preseason combine.

Training sessions are also available to enhance your athletic performance. Individual and small group sessions are available. Speed enhancement and the ability to change directions efficiently are addressed. With your specific sport in mind, exercises are carried out focusing on core stability, flexibility, balance and strength. Classes focus on the elements of your specific sport and personal goals.

Balance

Patients receive a comprehensive evaluation from our physical therapists who will determine the factors contributing to your balance deficits. An individual program specific to your balance needs will be formulated.. Posture, balance, strength, coordination and function are addressed as well as challenging your balance in a variety of real life situations such as curbs, uneven terrain, dim lighting, stairs and trips to the grocery store. A key component to our program is patient education. Home safety tips to help minimize the risk for falls in the home are emphasized.
